Oil on masonite. Fresh from the Plein Air convention in the Smokys, I enjoyed a spirited drive down the mountain after backpacking near Clingman's Dome. The countryside entertained me with multiple layers of atmospheric drama in blues and greens. My only regret was not having time to stop and paint it right then plein air. At least I could snap a photo for a studio piece and bask in the afterglow of PACE in the glorious NC mountains!
