D-Day 80th Anniversary

Oil on masonite. Inspired by both the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and the recent Plein Air Convention in the Smokys, but with deadlines and family activities swirling and thus very limited time, I combined these efforts into one painting. It was not done plein air and there was certainly no C-47 overhead, but who can resist taking a crack at such a glorious juxtaposition!
