Autumn Morning on Watauga Lake, plein air study
The lake never disappoints. The colors reflected in the water from the shoreline even once most of the leaves have fallen continue to inspire me. Here, I have captured those colors in this painting while painting en plein air with my artist friend, Bonnie Rollins Persinger. She was facing opposite my perspective and her lake colors were more a "muted, minty green" which was quite beautiful but I was attracted to the contrast and glow of the blue under the fallen log off the point!
Enjoy this delightful piece of autumn as seen through my eyes and place it in your collection either in a study, as part of a collage or on an easel.
