This painting is the result of spending hours exploring Gloucester, MA on a warm October day. Looking for painting inspiration, I approached Half-Moon Cove from above and saw two children playing on the rocks below. I decided to compose the painting from my vantage point so that the glint of the sun outlined the figures and led the eye upward through the painting.
