“Romance in Bloom” is a soft floral oil painting done in dreamy shades of cool and warm tones on a greenish grey background, and painted in the style of Impressionism. My style of impressionism is not traditional where strokes are laid down side by side. Instead, I paint in layers with a combination of thick and thin applications of paint. Some of the impasto layers are scraped away leaving the colors of the underlayers to show through. Some of the bottom layers are smudged leaving a glow in the background.
