Polish Farm Scene

Oil on Gessoed Masonite. A polish photographer, Jerzy Rajecki, well known in Poland gave me permission to use his photo to create this serene farm scene with several modifications to satisfy my composition and color values. The sheds are on a bank by a large pond with foliage lit by sunlight and shadows weaving dramatic accents in the grass as well as the leaves all reflecting in the pond creating a dreamlike atmosphere. I wanted to create more drama with the tall dark trees on the left side of the Painting balanced with the dark foreground on the right side with reflections and shadows.
