Fairytale

Fairytale is a 5”x7” plein air oil painting. Every Tuesday morning I paint with a group of plein air painters that range in age from 11-95 years old. The oldest few in the group have been meeting every Tuesday for 30 years! A few weeks ago we all painted at the Hans Christian Andersen Park in Solvang, California. We had a lovely time chatting and painting together in the shade of the big oak trees. We shared stories of painting adventures, workshops, and painting trips abroad. Our goal as a group for the day was to focus on painting trees. I couldn’t get over the beauty of the dark shadows of the hillside trees with the beautiful morning light streaming across the rocks and grass.
