Canyon Wakes Up

I've camped several times along this canyon on the upper Colorado River near Moab, Utah. I love watching the morning light and shadows play on the canyon walls at sunrise. On this October morning, I painted the sunlight creeping down the rock walls while the purple shadows grew smaller until the sun warmed my shoulders in the chilly morning air.
