Taking inspiration from the Purgatorio in Dante's Divine comedy. I was taken by the imagery described in Canto 30, where the poet is confronted by his past through his saintly muse Beatrice. Her figure contemplates perfect joy symbolized by the light from above. I chose to depict her close to the classical ideal and Dante in a more gestural and emotional manner.
