While running early one morning near Santa Barbara's Stearns Wharf, I spotted these men busily working on the deck of a fishing boat about to go out. The varied patterns of the lights, their work clothes, and the shapes of the boats inspired me to subsequently create in the studio this portrait of the working fishermen.
