Storm on the Horizon

We were at the beach, Ponce Inlet, and saw the storm coming from across the intercoastal waterway. The water and the sky (at the horizon) was an eerie turquoise blue and the cloud formations consisted of steely blue grays. purples and greens. It was a powerful and majestic scene with the clouds taking on many different shapes and textures. I used mostly palette knives to paint this (after starting on a warm toned underpainting). I added some impasto effects for a bit more drama!
