Fury

The Daytona Beach skies are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I am always photographing and painting both from my references and en plein air. This particular painting is studio created. I used mostly palette knives for this and added a bit of brushwork toward the end. I love the gradations present in the sky and wanted to show the temperature changes and the beauty they create from horizon to the apex (warms to cools as in a prism) and also across the sky from left to right. And, the variety of cloud formations and the striking colors they reflect!
