The Boss

Inspired by a visit to a farm museum and the chaos witnessed when watching the chickens and this rooster in their enclosure. The title, I felt was appropriate, as the rooster ruled the show by strutting around the pen, chest puffed out. There was a discordant mixture of clucking and pecking from this active scene. I used mostly palette knives for this painting. I find that they create wonderful textures and a sense of energy which is what I wanted to convey in this painting.
