Fishing Buddies

Painted during the Great Migration Paint Out in Kingsville, Ontario.
I chose a textured surface applied with a brayer for my subject. The pale pink underpainting dictated the course of the painting right from the beginning. Although the sky was a light blue, I resisted conventionality and am glad I did. Sometimes different looks better than the expected.
