Portrait of a young girl

This is an oil paint on canvas, 12x9". A group of about dozen or so artists get together weekly to paint under instructions from a retired art professor. I have been doing landscapes before but he inspired me start painting the people and painting with stories to tell. Seeing the colors, attempting to see the 'inner person through their eyes' all these encouraging subjects inspired me to paint this portrait. A young girl, shy and uncertain yet about the world, reflecting innocence with sublime beauty. Painted with rapid brush strokes and strong colors. I decided to submit this as a fulfilling experience.
