Dream a Little Dream

The art design process for this piece began with descriptions of a one-of-a-kind elk from a collector's ranch in Nevada/Utah.

The collector provided me with access to trail camera footage from the property so I could see the elk in its natural habitat. This painting is primarily inspired by those images and a road trip I took with my family through the area. I wanted to blend realism, abstractionism, and impressionism while staying true to the feeling of the region.
